...what direction do I want to take this blog in?
...what types of posts do people like to read?
...what do I have to offer that no one else does?
The things I know for certain...
I don't want blogging to leave me bitter.
I don't want to think of blogging as a chore.
I don't want to dread doing it.
I don't want to sell out for a few dollars or free products.
I don't want to write about things that don't interest me, only because they interest everyone else.
Let's be real here. My mind changes more often than Taylor Swift's relationship status. So, I've nixed any ideas about using this blog to earn money. Instead, I will continue to blog about the stuff that makes ME happy and take pride in staying true to myself. And, turning my blog into a business will make it a lot less fun for me.
With that being said, I want to go back to my roots. I miss Wordless Wednesday, and I miss posting pretty pictures that make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
So, without further ado...
I love this post! You are an amazing blogger! I love reading your blog posts, and seriously, it was you who taught me everything I know about blogging! You SHOWED me how to do a linkup post way back in the way! I think there are a lot of bloggers/readers out there like you (myself included) the "little bit of everything" bloggers, and it's perfectly ok! I love you for not settling or selling out and being YOU! xoxo
ReplyDeleteSome of the best blogs I read are the ones that are not trying to be entertaining for other people...the person is just writing whatever they want. Even if you think a post might be boring to your readers, the fact that you are being genuine will make you a better blogger.
ReplyDeleteI've been blogging for YEARS. Awhile back, with my old wedding blog, I made a tiny bit of money - just enough to cover my hosting.
ReplyDeleteI have been with this new blog for a couple of years and just like you, I'd love to make money with it. However, I see those who are making money blogging and some of them, I CAN'T STAND. The genuine posts have been replaced at least 80% by sponsored content.
I'm trying to come up with a way to blog for money while keeping a quality blog here. It's hard!
I totally agree! It'd be nice to make some money blogging but I wouldn't compromise the content of my blog for it!
ReplyDeleteThere is a blog tagging game going around and I got tagged so now I'm tagging you! Here's the post about it:

Hopefully I'll see you there! Please let me know if you can do it.
