Okay, Bloggies... I need your thoughts on something. I decided to turn to the blog world to ask this question because I know many of you are very tech savvy and familiar with the different types of laptops/notebooks available right now.
My question for you is this: Are MacBooks really worth the money or are there other laptops available that are somewhat comparable with a cheaper price tag?
I realize there isn't going to be a laptop that can do everything the MacBook does or one that performs exactly like it. If that were the case, everyone would choose the less expensive option (except for maybe the Apple snobs). But, I'm wondering if there's one that isn't too far off base.
I've been lusting over the highly coveted MacBook forever. I haven't purchased one yet for the obvious reason; they're expensive as shit. And, I haven't had that kind of money to spend on a laptop. I am receiving my first annual bonus next week (I didn't get one last year because you're required to have been employed for a full year & I was a few months shy of that) and am considering spending it on one. I'm anticipating the bonus to be about as much as the price of a MacBook, and I obviously want to be ABSOLUTELY sure I want to spend the entire check on it.
I SHOULD use the money to pay off credit card debt. That's what Responsible Jennifer would do. But, if I'm being honest, I worked my ass off for this bonus check. I listened to angry callers yell in my ear on a daily basis, I banged out an average of 50 calls A DAY and somehow managed to work over 20 pieces of correspondence between those 50 calls. I worked overtime and on days that are scheduled company paid holiday's (i.e. Martin Luther King). I came into work on days I felt like crap because I knew if I missed a day of work, I'd get behind and spend the rest of the week playing catch up. I feel as if I DESERVE to spend this money on something just for me… something I've been wanting forever. Then I start to think about all the clothes I could buy with that money‼ HAHAHA… I just don't know.
What do you guys think?

The MacBook is DEFINITELY worth the money! We were a PC family until we purchased a MacBook 3 years ago. Since then, we've also gotten an iMac and just finished setting up a friend's iMac. I wouldn't recommend anything else after using one

ReplyDeleteMacbook is DEFINITELY worth it. I took the plunge to the macbook world a little over a year ago and I don't regret it one bit. Yeah it was a little unsettling shelling out that amount of money at once for this little machine, but it's already earned it's keep. I've gone through so many crap PCs/windows laptops that I was just so fed up with them. I've never had a PC last more than a year without some kind of major problem (work computer included). So far the mac has had no issues. I don't even have virus protection on here and I've never had an issue. I have to use my HP pro book every day for work (sadly work stuff isn't compatible with mac's so thats what they give us :-( ) and when I switch to my macbook at the end of the day everything just runs so much smoother. I'm babbling, but bottom line is they are absolutely 110% totally worth the investment, you won't regret it.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely worth it!! I've had mine for 4 years, and would never touch a PC. When I owned a PC, I was getting one every year or som because it would end up crapping out. MacBook still going strong!
ReplyDeletei have a macbook and i agree, it's kind of expensive but i got mine a couple of hundred bucks cheaper so i thought i had a decent deal with it. if you have the money for it, i say go for it!! :D
