simple things - 07/14/2011

I decided to link up with Jesslyn Amber today for her Simple Things post! Her post inspired me to post about something similar - my "scrapbook" filled with old letters. In addition to old letters, it has thousands of quotes (& song lyrics) printed out and stuck in sleeves here and there. I am a strong believer that quotes can help you with any situation... because it feels reassuring to know that someone somewhere has been through the same thing you are going through right now and has come out on top. I thought I'd share a few of the favorite quotes I found & I also added a picture of a letter from one of my very favorite bloggers & real life friends - Heather.

I lie in an early bed, thinking late thoughts... waiting for the black to replace the blue. I do not struggle in your web because it was my aim to get caught. But, daddy long legs... I fear I am growing weary from waiting to be consumed by you. - Fiona Apple

I know we could both go on with our lives and we could both be fine. But, I've seen what we could be like together and I choose us. - Family Man

Somebody tell my head to try to tell my heart... that I'm better off without you. - Dixie Chicks

Don't be afraid to give up the good to go for the GREAT! - Kenny Rogers

When will people understand that words can cut as sharply as any blade, and that those cuts leave scars upon our souls. - Girl, Interrupted

Trying to forget someone you loved is like trying to remember someone you don't know. - Unknown

Everything I wish I could tell you is everything I wish YOU would say. -Unknown

People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is only revealed if there is a light from within. - Unknown
