fungi is not a fun guy

I haven't posted that much any this week because it is orientation week at CCU! Which means-- we are very, very busy with incoming freshmen and their parents coming in the office to ask 25 billion questions. I have been exhausted! And thus, have not posted.

Sunday was the only day missing from my earlier weekend post. Me and B went to lunch with my parents at the Mellow Mushroom. It is kind of a tradition to go out to eat with my family for Sunday lunch. We usually go to Cracker Barrel because that is their favorite place to go... but, my mom wanted to take B to his favorite place for a very late birthday gift. She has been wanting to treat him for a while now... but for whatever reason, we hadn't made it there yet. Anyway, we went last Sunday.

I am one of those people who always gets the same thing at a restaurant. I am not much of a risk taker when it comes to trying new foods. But, I decided to venture out and get what they call a Potato Pie. At first, I thought it would be like a giant baked potato packed with wholesome goodness... but the waitress said it was actually like a baked potato pizza. I was kind of skeptical. Pizza crust with diced potatoes, cheese, bacon, chives, and sour cream? It didn't sound so great when she put it that way... but I am glad I ordered it anyway because it was the most delicious thing ever! I know y'all probably think I'm a big fat lard, but who am I to kid... I am sometimes! :)

When we got home, we watched the last {sob} super regionals baseball game where Coastal was playing S. Carolina. They lost the first game and they needed this one to move on to game three... they were up at one time and I was getting so excited, but they ultimately lost. Even though I work at Coastal and they are my "alma mater" (p.s. I hate when people say that), I cared more about S. Carolina losing than I did about Coastal winning. Clemson is number one in everything to me - regardless - and therefore, S. Carolina is last to me - regardless. So, I perked up a little bit when Clemson beat the socks off Alabama that night!! AND on Sunday!! Hooray!

Later that evening, my friend Brandy came over and we all (meaning me, B, Brandy, and Lando) went to The Boathouse for their Sunday Summer Concert Series. The band playing was called 'Your Momma's Big Fat Booty Band.' It was like ska music or something... I didn't really understand it and I didn't really like it, to be honest... so, we left after about an hour. Here are several photos I got while we were there:

After that, we went back to the house and watched the Celtics game. Unfortunately, they let us down too, but I have faith that they will win it all tomorrow!

So- that pretty much summed up my weekend. I know I briefly mentioned my toenail "fungus" in a previous post and thought I would discuss further. I wasn't sure if it was fungus or a bruise or what... at first it looked like a bruise, and then it looked like a fungus, and now I'm not really sure what it looks like. Here is a picture I took of my toesies about two days ago: YUMMY!

Well, after seeing Brit's Opi Axxium Gel manicure, I just decided I had to have one. I called around a few places and only found one nail salon in the area that did them - The Nail Lounge. I made an appointment for me and a friend for today. I decided I would ask the nail tech when she was doing my nails. She says it is a bruise. I am going to take her word for it. I asked her if it was a fungus, what should I do? She said to just clean it with alcohol and it would probably just grow out... that I shouldn't worry about it unless it spreads. I asked if I could paint them and she said yes, so these god awful things are being covered up immediately. If it is a bruise, I think this guy is the culprit:

The big guy, not the little one, of course. Brady is our Greyhound (I say ours - but he is really B's) and little Baxter is my Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix. I think he may have stepped on my toes one day when he was excited to go out. I vaguely remember him doing it and it hurting like hell... but I would have never guessed he would bruise my toenails! Anyway - I hope the nail tech is right and my manicure turned out great! I was thoroughly impressed! If anyone is debating on whether or not to get one - I think you should! HAPPY HUMPDAY YOU GUYS! ONLY TWO MORE DAYS TO GO!
